I think this game is interesting on a very smal board, like 5x5, 9x9 or 13x13.

9x9 Rush is a good size for beginners or people who just want a fast game. The 9x9 game goes pretty fast since there are always multiple moves per turn in the middle and end game. There may be as many as 10 moves or more in one turn late in the game. I usually play on a 9x9 but sometimes use the 11x11. Everyone is a beginner now but later, once the strategy starts to develop, there will probably be some interest in using even larger boards. Boards smaller than 9x9 might create a first move advantage, especially among more advanced players.
Rush can be played seriously but I think of it as a light, fun game. It's in the same class as Dots and Boxes, but you don't have two distinct phases like you do in Dots and Boxes. On average, the number of moves per turn in Rush gradually increases throughout the game. However it's not unusual to have multi-move turns early in the game and single move turns later in the game. This game is simple to undertsand and fun to play. It would be a good fast play game.
